Photo Exhibition on Women at Ibero American Festival
- Written by Eddy García de la Rosa
This exhibition presents the naked beauty of woman's body during pregnancy, which is not always understood and eroticism not always perceived due to the physical changes occurred, as a consequence of the conception of human life.
It switches between the rigors of artistic photography in which she manages to develop a concept in the perception of the viewer to the content of each of the photographs, and in turn adheres to social documentary which draws photojournalism.
According to the author, the body is used in social interaction as an instrument of identity and competence. During pregnancy the body changes and accepting this change becomes a challenge for women.
With this photo project Heidi Calderon aims to train criteria in contrast to patterns imposed by fashion shift, as well as to develop a positive attitude towards pregnancy, both individually and socially, contextualized in Cuba that is dealing with the rapid aging of population.
