Holguin Opens Iberoarte 2015 Crafts Fair
The 14th edition of the Iberoarte 2015 craft fair started in the northeastern Cuban city of Holguin, which is part of the activities of the Ibero-American Culture Festival, to be held there from 24 thru 30 October.

Carmen Hernandez, a member of the organizing committee, said that this time the event will be devoted to the link of tradition and modernity in the craftsmanship.

She said that the opening of Iberoarte on Friday afternoon will be marked by an exhibition of visual arts, which brings together members of the Union of Writers and Artists of Cuba in collaboration with workers from the Papiro publishing house in Holguin.

The fair, which will run until the first of November, will have the presence of more than 100 artisans, including about 40 foreigners coming mainly from Peru, Costa Rica, Mexico, Panama, Spain and Italy.

Antiques, utilitarian and decorative objects made from ceramic, in addition to furniture, jewelry, gold and silver craft, as well as textile garments are some of the offers on exhibition in the fair, noted Hernandez.

The Expo Holguin Fairground, the Art Center in the city of Holguin and the Idearte Cultural Fund and Bayado shops are the main venues of the Fair. / By Ahora.
