The Holguín Symphony Orchestra, an institution with a sustained work within the artistic work of the territory and highlighted by its work with invited directors, received the Cultural Success of the Year Award 2017, in the eastern province.
At the awards show, held tonight on Tuesday at the Eddy Suñol Theater, the soloist Lucrecia Marín, the troubadours Fernando Cabreja, Raúl Prieto and Manuel Leandro, as well as the Rodrigo Prats Lyric Theater, delighted the public with their performances.
For the sixth time, the Audience Prize was awarded, on this occasion with more than seven thousand votes cast by Holguín spectators and from several countries to the Voluntad project, which from the Naranjo Agrio hillside, in the municipality of Sagua de Tánamo, transcends with his community work towards other regions of the mountainous geography of eastern Cuba,.
The jury, made up of professionals of the media of the territory, to assess the quality and social impact of the events, added to the list of nominations the concert A lo cubano, by the soloist Lucrecia Marín, together with the Symphonic Orchestra of Holguín , during the XXIII Festival of Ibero-American Culture, held in October 2017.
It also included the performance of great exponents of Cuban music during the Gibara International Film Festival, among which were Pablo Milanés, Eliades Ochoa, Pancho Céspedes, Descemer Bueno and Isaac Delgado.
