With the purpose of satisfying the demands of reading of the users, the provincial library Alex Urquiola of Holguín celebrated with joy the 59 years of foundation this 28 of January.

After obtaining encouraging results in their work during 2017, their workers, mostly women, open their doors every day to make reading a habit to encourage more and more.

In addition to facilitating reading for pleasure, including children through the space called the Bebeteca, its workers offer users bibliographic search services, promotion and presentation of books, intranet navigation, consultations and references, technical assistance, among other varied offers.

Because of its central location, the Alex Urquiola library hosts several Holguin Culture Week activities, organized every January to celebrate the delivery of the City Title and the Tenure of Government to the town.

It is also recognized as being a reference center for book presentations as occurs during the Holguín edition of the Book Fair, event for which they are already prepared.

But it is the Bloguerías of May, through social networks, the one that attracts the most audiences, without forgetting concerts in its wide portal, fashion shows, theater presentations, art and craft exhibitions and any event that may be developed in the spacious rooms of the beautiful building of three plants, located in front of the park Calixto García

And for the most demanding readers it welcomes the Minerva Club, space for the most select of universal literature.

I could not miss the reference to the specialized music room where you can listen to the best of Cuban and universal music.

Undoubtedly, the Alex Urquiola provincial library in the city of Holguin not only opens its doors every day to make reading a habit to promote, but its workers offer users other services of interest.
