Holguín, the Cuban city of the parks, celebrates during this week the 266th anniversary of obtaining the Title of City and Tenure of Government, granted on January 18, 1752
The inaugural parade departed from the Museum House of the Lieutenant Governor to the General Mayor Calixto García park where artistic schools of the territory were present, the different projects of houses of culture and the scenic arts and the Brigade of Art Instructors José Martí, demonstrating once again the Holguin territory as one of the main Cuban cultural squares.
They paraded through the main streets of Holguín, consecrated and amateur artists, lovers of culture and eternal lovers of their city, La Colonia China, Teatro Guiñol, Neón Teatro, students of the Raúl Gómez García Vocational School of Art, of the El Alba Academy and the José María Ochoa Music Conservatory, the Fantasía Company, as well as other sectors that represent the people of Holguín and work for the local development of the territory.
Right in the heart of the city, in front of the house of the Manuel Dositeo Aguilera culture, the inaugural gala of the XXXVI edition of Holguin Culture Week was held with a luxury artistic cast.
Holguin artists sang, declaimed and danced to the city, among them Codanza, Lucrecia Marín, Nadiel Mejías, Yamila Rodríguez, Ernesto Infante, the Rodrigo Prats Lyrical Theater, Words to the Wind, the Guiñol Theater, Golden Voice and many other representatives of the culture of Holguín. Under the artistic direction of Víctor Osorio Zaldívar, the gala brought a very coherent thread, which transported those present to the beginnings of the city until today.
The event closed with a concert for the 25 years of artistic life of the singer Gladis Maria in the theater Eddy Suñol under the title "When a woman sings", a great repertoire that included diverse genres such as Son, song and bolero. With the soloist Ernesto Infante, Kenia Allen, Marilín Aldana and the composer Rafael Espín, the Mariachi Holguín and the Orquesta Avilés, as guests.
