The Art Center of Holguín will inaugurate this Saturday the 27th edition of the Provincial Hall of Visual Arts with an exhibition of over twenty works by local artists.
The exhibit "Making-ON" addresses the production of the visual arts as a broad process of artistic content creation that includes not only the work itself, but also the development of the curatorial practice.
"Its title, adjusted from a Cinematographic term, reveals the intention to graph the whole process of realization of the exhibition, including reception of the pieces, cultural dissemination and assembly," added the curator.
In this edition, the Hall exhibits pieces of the different formats and trends with which the visual arts are worked, such as digital photography, video-creation, painting, engraving and watercolor.
The exhibition includes works of renowned local artists such as Salvador Pavón and other exponents from the municipalities of Sagua de Tánamo, Calixto García and Banes, in addition to students of El Alba Academy, which for several editions have brought freshness and mobility to the Hall and the curatorial proposal.
To this was added a theoretical program that included lectures and conversations on various topics on the artistic world such as the invisible vanguard, curatorial experiences in the Holguin context and cultural identity.
