The closing of the 7th Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC) started today on the presence of the Historic Leader of the Cuban Revolution, Fidel Castro Ruz, and Army General and the country's President, Raul Castro Ruz.

After a three day debate, the new PCC Central Committee that was elected yesterday will be presented today; as well as the secretariat, the PCC Politburo and the First and Second Secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba, elected early this morning in the first meeting of the PCC Central Committee.

Today, that Cuba marks the 55 anniversary of the victory of Playa Giron (Bay of Pigs), the delegates and guests attending the 7th Congress are closing a meeting where they debated on the PCC work, in which they assessed the plans for the country's economic and social development.

In fact, for their significance, two of the documents analyzed by the one thousand delegates and about 280 guests will be discussed by the members of the PCC and the Young Communist League (UJC) and representatives and of country's mass organizations. / Granma / Translated by Radio Angulo.
