Army General Raul Castro Ruz, the President of the Cuban Councils of State and Ministers, received Dr. Jorge Carlos de Almeida Fonseca, his counterpart from the Republic of Cape Verde, who is on an official visit to the Caribbean nation.

During the cordial meeting, held on Wednesday afternoon, the two leaders verified the positive progress of bilateral relations -the 40th anniversary of which is marked this year- and agreed on the willingness to continue developing them. They also exchanged views on various issues on the international agenda.

Accompanying the distinguished visitor were Dr. Antonio Correia e Silva, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation; Ambassador Daniel Oliveira; and Arnaldo Delgado, Diplomatic Adviser to the President.

Cuba was also represented at the meeting by Bruno Rodriguez, Minister of Foreign Affairs; Rodolfo Alarcon, Minister of Higher Education; and Rogelio Sierra, Deputy Foreign Minister. / ACN.
