Favored among other reasons for its exceptional natural quality, Cuba will have in the future an extraordinary economic power, Romanian Ion Tiriac, businessman and ex famous player and manager of tennis.

In his second business trip to this capital, the chief executive of Tiriac Holding -a group of over 40 private companies of the banking, insurance,

real estate, automobile and air transport sectors- told Prensa Latina that the island 'can live only from tourism'.

I arrived here and I have done as in my own country: look in the long term, 20 years and over, said and recalled he was the first to establish a private bank (1990) and an insurance company (1994) in Romania.

As part of the program he carries out in Cuba, Tiriac held meetings with high authorities of the Ministry of Foreign Trade, Investment and Economic Collaboration and Tourism.

Although he underlined his major interest is to develop projects in insurance and banking, he anticipated he has also prepared a group to start immediately a substantial investment in the tourist industry.

Regarding this, he stated the idea is to build several high-standard hotels to operate under the brand Four Seasons, as well as construct at least three golf courses, over 20 tennis courts and some SPAs.

I am going to enjoy these plans very much, as I love Cuba as a country, I like the language and above all the people, because they are happy and this does not happen in any other place, he emphasized.

Winner together with Ilia Nastase of the Roland Garros tournament in doubles (1970), three-time finalist of the Davis Cup and winner in 40 tournaments of the Professional Tennis Association (PTA), Tiriac is

considered by many a real guru of the discipline.

Thus that his visit to Havana also anticipated the idea of organizing during 2016, a cup for young tennis players from Latin America and the Caribbean in which could also take part some Romanian players.

Tiriac will return to this capital next January together with his friend and President of the International Judo Federation, Marius Vizer, to attend the Grand Prix of that discipline and will be also accompanied by who is considered the best gymnast of all times, his compatriot Nadia Comaneci, he advanced. / By Moises Perez Mok - PL.
