Cuba: VP Cabrisas Meets with U.S. Agriculture Secretary
The Vice-president of the Council of Ministers, Ricardo Cabrisas, met on Wednesday afternoon with the U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Thomas Vilsack, who began a working visit to Cuba.

During the meeting, they spoke about Cuba's foreign economic relations, the interests of the U.S. agricultural sector and the obstacles for trade between the two countries derived from the implementation of the blockade.

Accompanying Secretary Vilsack were Senator Jeff Merkley (Democrat for Oregon) and Democrat representatives Terri Sewell (Alabama), Kurk Schrader (Oregon) and Suzan Delbene (Washington), other officials of the Department of Agriculture, and the Charge d'Affaires of the U.S. Embassy to Havana, Jeffrey DeLaurentis.

Also participating for Cuba were Gustavo Machin, Deputy Director of the United States Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and other officials of the Foreign Ministry and of the ministries of Agriculture and Foreign Trade and Investment. / CNA.
