The event will be held at the Hotel Melia Santiago and will be attended by representatives of European and Latin American engineers, mainly from Spain and Portugal, to encourage the updating on developments on construction aspects.

Topics related to sustainability of engineering works will be priorities in the event, which will be attended by professionals from Cuban, Colombia, Mexico, Angola, Puerto Rico, Argentina, Honduras and Costa Rica.

After celebrating last July its 500 anniversary, this city has hundreds of new buildings to show to the visitors, and also, the experience of construction companies and projects, as well as the Construction Faculty of the University of Oriente.

The most recent examples of construction efforts are the advances in the Granma road, which runs along the southeastern coast of the Caribbean Sea and the Sierra Maestra mountain range.

The first section of the malecon, which returned to Santiago its view of the ocean, and Avenida Patria, which revitalized one of the most populated districts of the city, are other recent civil engineering works conducted in the territory. / PL.
