The IT Security and Consulting Company (Segurmática) presents a mobile security antivirus that prevents attacks on cell phones with Android 4.2, system at the XVII International IT Fair Informática 2018, in Havana.

Pedro Michel Pérez Barrios, a technical support specialist at the company, told ACN that its facilities contain more than four terabytes of malicious applications designed to damage the Android system, especially through Zapya (a file transfer app).

Some of these viruses were designed to steal credit card accounts, send messages without the user's consent, modify parameters inside the phone and even block it in such a way that it would force it to restore to factory set up, with the loss of all its information, he said.

Pérez Barrios explained that after the recent announcements of the Cuban Telecommunications Company (ETECSA) to promote Internet browsing through cell phones, Segurmática offers a version with a firewall for the Wi-Fi network and mobile phones, which would prevent traffic to unwanted sites.

The security antivirus, developed by specialists from the organization with a totally Cuban search engine, is very light and does not affect the performance of the cell phone, he said.

Those interested can contract the service and obtain updates through the website www.segurmatica.cu, or access it through the Internet.

The purchase price of the antivirus is 25 pesos, valid for one year.

Precisely the security antivirus developed by Segurmática was one of the projects chosen to compete in the International IT Fair 2018, held at the Pabexpo fairgrounds and whose award ceremony will take place next Friday afternoon. With information of ACN
