The US Embassy in Cuba decided to limit consular services until further notice due to damages caused by Hurricane Irma. According to an information note issued by the diplomatic headquarters, interviews for visas scheduled between 7 and 22 September will be rescheduled.

No documents or visas will be received in that period, the text added.

According to the note, the embassy suffered serious damage from the penetration of the sea, so people are asked not to go to the facilities.
Irma hit the north coast of Cuba with great force causing serious damages, among them, the fall of the national electroenergetic system.

However, the country's top leadership is confident of the recovery, as well as of the citizen organization, to return to normality as soon as possible. / ACN
